Chores, not cleaning
This One Is Priced by the Hour, and Here Is Why
Every other service we sell is a flat rate, because a two bedroom flat takes about as long as the next two bedroom flat. Chores do not work like that. One household needs three hours of ironing, another needs the dishwasher run and the beds changed.
So instead of guessing, we sell blocks of a housekeeper’s time at a flat, all-in price. You decide what gets done and in what order. The price still cannot move, because you bought the block, not an estimate.
- Laundry, drying and folding
- Steam ironing and pressing
- Dishes and kitchen reset
- Bed changes and linen swaps
- General tidying and organising

How the block works
Two Rules, Both in Your Favour
Buying time instead of a result only works if both sides know exactly where the line is. Here is ours.
You set the priority list
Tell your housekeeper exactly how to spend the block when you book, for example two hours of steam ironing for dress shirts and one hour washing and drying bed linens. They work straight down your list from highest priority to lowest, so if time runs out it runs out on the things you cared about least.
When the clock stops, the helper stops
The block is the block. Once the booked hours are complete your housekeeper packs up and heads to their next home, and anything still on the list rolls to next time. Nothing gets added to your bill and nobody gets asked to work unpaid.
Being straight with you
The Limits on Laundry, Ironing and Dishes
Your things are yours, and some of them we will not risk. These limits are stated up front rather than buried in the terms.
Laundry
- We use your washer, dryer and detergent
- Not liable for colour bleeding or shrinkage
- Not liable for faulty appliance damage
Ironing
- You provide a working iron or steamer
- No silk, couture or heavily beaded items
- An ironing board makes it far quicker
Dishes
- Luxury crystal and antique china stay with you
- Not liable for chips to specialty glassware
- Dishwasher loaded and run where you have one
Add these to a regular clean instead
If you only need one load done alongside a standard or deep clean, our housekeeping extras are cheaper than a full block: laundry and bed reset, dish service, or steam ironing at $25 each, all-in.
Common questions
Housekeeping FAQs
What if my list is longer than the block?
Your housekeeper works from your highest priority down. Anything left can be planned for another visit. If your list regularly outgrows the block, choose a longer block for more time.
Can I combine housekeeping with a regular clean?
Yes, and for smaller jobs that is usually the better value. A standard or deep clean can take our housekeeping extras at $25 each for laundry and a bed reset, dishes, or steam ironing. A full block makes sense once the chores are the main event.
Do you bring detergent or a vacuum?
For every other service we bring everything. Housekeeping is the exception: laundry and ironing use your machines, your detergent and your iron, because they are already in your home and they are the ones your fabrics are used to.
Is it the same housekeeper each time?
On a recurring block we keep you with the same person wherever scheduling allows. That matters more here than anywhere else, because somebody who already knows which drawer things live in gets far more done in three hours.
Can a housekeeper do errands or childcare?
No. Our staff are insured for housekeeping work inside your home, which does not extend to driving, shopping, caring for children or looking after pets. We would rather say that plainly than have someone asked on the day.
